Final Contents Page

Front cover

This is my final Front cover page . i have made some little changes to this page , for example i stretched the image outwards to make the image look more suitable for the front page , as we can see below my models faces seem squashed . i also made changes to the Mast head . 'RNG' orginally i used a more circler shaped font with a black and white gradient fade .Observing my front cover i decided to change my style of font for the mast head more rectangular and solid black colour with a blue stroke effect , sticking to culture of Rnb magazines . Also in the subheadings ive used the names artists witch where originally hi-lighted with a yellow stroke effect i have now changed it to a aqua blue again tying in the image of the genre.

This was my original idea for my front cover.

Double Page spread analysis (Florence Welch)

Examining this double page spread article from the NME magazine , the main image of the increasingly popular Florence Welch. We can automatically gather the simple colour pallet that has been used (Black,Grey,Red) the effect of using 2 darker tones and a bright primary colour could show how Florence stands out amongst other artist. Moving our concentration to the background , a white plane background has been used with 'USA' written in large blocked font in a slight darker grey , the fact that Florence is in front of the font shows she is in control and very popular in America , adding to that it appears that she is sitting on a red and white striped cloth which could be linked to the stripes on the american flag . The fact she is sitting on the flag also conotes power+success. On the left hand side reading 'Got the love' is written in fancy almost handwritten font is the title of her No.1 hit single , the fact that is partially overlapping the 'A of USA' shows that her single is what lead her to america and got her this super star status. The subheading 'She's 2009's biggest succes story with america at her feet' the subheading reenforces the way Florences career has taken off and how successful she is becoming in america. At the start of the article the 'D' is written in the fancy writing as the 'Got the love' quote.

Double Page spread analysis (Lily Alen)

In this double page spread we can see Lily Alen as she is taking up the whole left-hand side of the double page spread. the effect of using a large image is that it connotes the image of power and superiority , also Lily has her hands on her hips and her head is tilted and she is looking directly at the camera (involving the audience) this connotes the superior nature and her confidence . Her clothes are looking oversized and baggy and her hair is very short , giving her a edgy but yet androgynous image.
the floating quote 'People Think I'm An Attention Seeker But I'm Just Honest'  have been used in an effective way , taking up a lot of room grabbing the readers attention and informing them of what the article consist's . The typography used is like
B l o c k e d  letters that look to be cut up and stuck together , this gives of a rough edgy look , linking back to Lily's own personal image, it also invites the reader in the floating quote uses a personal approach talking about what people think of her .The subheading is used to inform the reader of what is to come in the article ,

Contents page analysis (NME)

BRIGHT COLOURS! this contents page  from the NME magazine is as we can see is very busy jam packed with images and loads of texts. we can obvious tell that the target audience is for a younger ages (16-25). by using the bright colours it makes the page more eye-catching and interesting . they also use a range of different colours , relating to different sections of the magazines . the colourful nature of this contents page subverts NME's original identity , they usually stick to minium colours which are usually dark colours.
The main image is of the member from the Kaiser Chiefs (Ricky) he is in the centre of the page but it is not a large portion of the page , his body posture and facial expression is very different as he almost hunched over and looking up at the camera , im not sure of what this conotes but it is very different to what NME usually portrays . the images on the side next to subheadings are very important , it draws the audience  attention to what is going on with the magazine .

Contents Page Analysis (Vibe)

This contents page is very simple . The colour selection is just of dark black and grey tones, giving off a silence and concentrated atmosphere . The main image is used as the foreground and the background, VIBE editors have chosen Mavado to be on the front cover , Mavado being a gangster icon in the music industry .He is wearing chains/watches/bracelets wich relates to the gangster culture , his posture and stance is very 'Boss' like , Mavado is in control , his head titled to the right lookin directly at the camera installs that power and 'Boss' image . The sub headings are very simple also there is not much to go on , which also makes the magazine seem more sophisticated and to the point , aiming at a target audience of around 18-25.
